| Millers Clonk Dynamos, 7-6 | The Detroit Dynamos and Minneapolis Millers left the fans buzzing.
The Minneapolis Millers knocked off the Detroit Dynamos, 7-6, at Hennepin County Stadium. Steve Hoffer was a big reason Minneapolis won. The left fielder was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win went to Wayne Stevens in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Bud Dixon took the loss. Picking up the save was Ben Baird. He's now 17 for 22 in save chances.
Minneapolis took a 7-6 lead on Bill Barber's 14th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Barber hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Detroit pitcher Bud Dixon visibly frustrated.
"We got the victory," said Barber. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
The second-place Dynamos dropped to 54-47.
