| Comets Handed 9-0 Loss by St. Louis | St. Louis starter Tige Bowe kept the Houston hitters in check, helping his team cruise to a win, 9-0. Bowe, now 12-7, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing no runs. The third-place Pioneers sport a record of 51-51.
St. Louis got a big at-bat from East Brainerd, Tennessee native John Richards, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a bases-clearing double. It was his 17th double of the season and put the Pioneers ahead, 7-0.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Bowe, "and then get after it again."
