Suns Need Extra Innings to Top Chiefs, 7-6
The Los Angeles Suns outlasted the Chicago Chiefs, 7-6, in 10 innings. Los Angeles pinch hitter Bill Kearney stood out with his performance. He was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Alex Briggs claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record stands at 3-1. With the win, Los Angeles goes to 55-48, while the Chiefs fall to 43-60.

Los Angeles used the clutch hitting of Jack Drake to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Suns ahead, 7-6. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.

"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Los Angeles skipper Jim Coulter.
