| Kings Suffer 4-3 Loss to Kansas City | Kansas City right-hander Orville Johnson pitched his team to victory over the Seattle Kings at Mavericks Stadium. The final score was 4-3. The last-place Mavericks lifted their record to 41-61.
The Mavericks got a big at-bat from left fielder Tony Keil. For the game, Keil went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Kansas City a 3-0 lead.
"Orville is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Kansas City manager Bob Bendick.
