New York Downs Cleveland, 3-1
The New York Imperials, behind a great outing from Howie Weston defeated the Cleveland Foresters, 3-1, at Dyckman Stadium. The winner was Weston. He threw 7.0 innings of 1-hit ball. The loser was Ed Squires. Ed Cooper was credited with the save, his 21st in 24 tries.

Jack Peeples was 2-3 with 2 singles for New York. The 27-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ed Squires. It was his 51st RBI of the season.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said New York manager Jim Abernathy.
