| Atlanta Makes It 9 Straight with 5-3 Win | The Atlanta Copperheads picked up a win at Liberty Coliseum, dropping the Philadelphia Keystones, 5-3, in 10 innings. Howie Burt, who won the Kellogg Award in 1973, was the difference-maker. Atlanta reliever Sonny Stoyer picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jim Steuber absorbed the loss. The 4th-place Keystones have dropped 4 straight games.
Al Hubbard hit a run-scoring triple off Jim Steuber in the top of the tenth, which put the Copperheads in front, 4-3. Hubbard had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
