| Los Angeles Defeated By Chiefs, 7-2 | Getting an impressive start from Troy Myers, Chicago beat Los Angeles by the score of 7-2. The winning pitcher was Myers, now 7-5. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Chicago is now 53-50, Los Angeles 61-40.
The Chiefs got a big boost from shortstop Rankin Ziegler who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first inning off Suns hurler Al Whitman. It was his 44th RBI of the season and put Chicago on top, 1-0.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Chicago skipper Ollie Howard.
