Walter Swings Keystones to 8-7 Win
Philadelphia shortstop Ed Walter made his presence felt in the 8-7 Keystones triumph over the Washington Eagles. Walter went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The win was credited to Jack Peck in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Don Maguire took the loss. At 51-50, the Keystones find themselves in 5th place in the Federal Association East.

Walter contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Philadelphia in the top of the ninth. With his team trailing 7-5, Walter took a sinker from Don Maguire and stroked the home run to right-center. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Keystones to leap in front, 8-7.

"Winning never gets old," said Walter.
