| Stars Slap 4-0 Loss on Kansas City | The Los Angeles Stars locked up a win at Prairie Park, knocking off the Kansas City Mavericks, 4-0. On the mound for Los Angeles was right-hander Bill Dunham. He played a major role in the triumph. The first-place Stars now have a win-loss record of 58-40.
Bob Griffin, who finished 3rd in the CA in stolen bases with 27 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Griffin contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Los Angeles up, 2-0.
"I thought Bill threw the ball well across the board," said Los Angeles manager Charley McCullough.
