Bob Ciaramella, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-10. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Ben Baird was called on to finish, recording his 16th save.
Minneapolis used a timely hit from Bill Barber to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Millers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Barber said after the game.
