Houston got a strong outing from Johnny Blackburn as the Comets defeated the Philadelphia Keystones, 3-2, at Liberty Coliseum. With the win, Houston raised its record to 51-48.

Jerry Robinson had a direct impact on the outcome. Robinson contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Houston up, 3-2.

"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Blackburn after the game.
