Chiefs Lose to Copperheads in Walk-Off
Chicago second baseman Harry McDaniel had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. McDaniel went 4 for 6 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice, even as Atlanta beat the Chiefs, 10-9, in 12 innings. The Copperheads have now won 6 straight.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 12th for Atlanta. That's when Howard Smith hit a solo home run off 34-year old right-handed pitcher Norm Sutherland to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"This joint was rocking," said Smith.
