The Cleveland Foresters picked up a win at Forester Stadium, knocking off the Kansas City Mavericks, 6-1. Starting pitcher Dick Couture was a big reason why. The Continental Association East-leading Foresters have a record of 52-44.

The Foresters got a big at-bat from shortstop Herb Reed. For the game, Reed was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 20th double of the season gave Cleveland a 2-0 lead.

"Dick is good at sticking to his strengths," said Cleveland manager Ray Parsons.
