The Baltimore Clippers topped the St. Louis Pioneers, 9-3, in Federal Association action at Pioneer Field III. The standout performance belonged to Baltimore pitcher and Elizabeth, New Jersey, native Buck Guthrie. The 4th-place Clippers bumped their record to 50-46.

Ike Barnett, who finished 4th in the FA in batting average with .319 last year, contributed to the Baltimore win with a 3-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI.
