| Cannons 9-3 Victors Over Los Angeles | The Cincinnati Cannons knocked off the Los Angeles Stars, 9-3, in Continental Association action at Bigsby Stadium. Cincinnati pitcher and South Gate, California, native Max Reed had an outstanding performance. Cincinnati is now 40-58, Los Angeles 48-48.
Billy West had a big 2-run home run for the Cannons in the top of the sixth inning. With Cincinnati leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Bill Dunham, who is tied for 8th in the CA in strikeouts with 94, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Cannons on top, 3-0.
"Max did a good job of managing their lineup," said Cincinnati manager Charlie Britton. | |
