| Copperheads Beat Chiefs, 3-0 | Atlanta picked up a win at Peachtree Stadium, bumping off the Chicago Chiefs, 3-0. Pitcher Howie Burt was a major reason the Copperheads emerged victorious. In 7 innings, Burt surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Atlanta now sits at 61-35, while Chicago falls to 40-57.
Jay Hunter came through for Atlanta when he hit a 2-run single in the bottom of the sixth. With the bases loaded, he hit a two-strike changeup to left-center field, staking his team to a 2-0 lead.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Burt told the Atlanta News.
