| Chicago Sent Home with 5-0 Loss | The exploits of right fielder John Piper, who is tied for 4th in the CA in runs scored with 60, helped the Cleveland Foresters defeat the Chicago Cougars, 5-0. Piper went 2-4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The victory gives Cleveland a record of 51-44.
With Cleveland leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Piper hit a sinker from Jim Norris for a 2-run triple. It was his 5th triple of the season and put the Foresters ahead, 3-0.
