The Boston Minutemen picked up a win at Minuteman Stadium, taking down the Chicago Chiefs, 5-1. Starting pitcher Johnny Hall was a big reason why. Hall, the winner, moves to 6-6. He threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. The Minutemen raised their record to 35-57.

The Minutemen got a big at-bat from right fielder Jim Morton. For the game, Morton went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Boston a 2-1 lead.

Boston manager Dode Edwards called it "a good, solid win."
