| Win Goes to Imperials in Tight Contest | The New York Imperials pushed past the Chicago Cougars, 9-5, in 12 innings at Cougars Park. Ty Rusconi went 3-6 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3, to lead the charge. New York pitcher Stan Boone got the win. He's now 4-1. Harl Thompson was tagged with the loss. The first-place Imperials go to 52-41.
New York needed the clutch hitting of Ramon Tejada to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Imperials on top, 9-5. For the game, Tejada had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
