| Pioneers Suffer 4-0 Home Defeat | Baltimore took on St. Louis in front of a lively crowd.
Joe McDowell, who finished 5th in the CA in innings pitched with 255.1 in 1968, was locked in. The right-hander led the Baltimore Clippers to a 4-0 win against the St. Louis Pioneers at Pioneer Field III. The Clippers raised their record to 49-45.
Hal Blank dealt the Pioneers a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Baltimore leading 1-0, Blank, who is tied for 2nd in the FA with a .333 batting average, hit a 1-2 sinker for a run-scoring single.
"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Blank. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
