| Milwaukee Downs Chicago, 4-2 | Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Milwaukee Arrows and Chicago Cougars.
The Milwaukee Arrows had to overcome a fine effort from Chicago pitcher Pug White to win, 4-2, at Lakefront Park. White went 7 innings and allowed 4 runs. Johnny Hoskinson, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 7-6. Jim Hart collected his 13th save.
The Arrows got a big at-bat from left fielder Harry Dellinger. For the game, Dellinger was 1-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Milwaukee a 3-2 lead.
Said losing manager Pug Bryan: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
The Arrows now have a record of 49-43 with the win over Chicago. | |
