The Detroit Dynamos knocked off the New York Gothams, 10-8, at Thompson Field. Dave Black was a big reason Detroit won. The left fielder was 2-2 with a triple, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 4 times. Beau McClellan closed it out for his 6th save. Detroit bumps their record to 30-62 with the win.

Buddy Ensey broke a 7-7 tie in the bottom of the eighth with a run-scoring walk. It put the Dynamos in front, 8-7. For the game, Ensey went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

Ensey said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.
