In a low-scoring contest, St. Louis pitcher Red Kline was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-0 win. The Pioneers, at 47-47, sit in third place in the Federal Association West.

Kline picked up the win. He's now 8-5, after putting the Washington offense in the deep freeze. Over 8.1 innings, he allowed no earned runs on 4 hits.

"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Kline.
