| Chiefs Win, 6-3, in 12 | The Chicago Chiefs racked up a win at Minuteman Stadium, bumping off the Boston Minutemen, 6-3, in 12 innings. Otis Hawkins, who started for Chicago, pitched effectively for his team. Phil Murphy recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 1 for 1. The Chiefs bumped their record to 52-46 with this latest triumph.
Harry McDaniel came through with a big-time hit for Chicago. The second baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Otis's as tough as he is talented," said Chicago manager Ollie Howard. | |
