| Clippers Earn Late Win | Baltimore starter Pat Fortier pitched well against the Houston Comets at Dalton Domed Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3, in 12 innings. Baltimore reliever George Brown picked up the win, while Joe Barnes took the loss for Houston. The win makes Baltimore 48-44.
Baltimore used a timely hit from Hal Blank to get the win. The third baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Clippers ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
Said Fortier: "It's just one win, but it feels like more when you outlast a tough opponent."
