| Pioneers Prevail, 4-3, Over Washington | St. Louis and Washington duked it out and the Pioneers came out victorious.
The St. Louis Pioneers topped the Washington Eagles, 4-3, with youngster Al Pratt playing a key role. Pratt went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Pioneers in the win. Tige Bowe, the winner, is now 9-9. He struck out 6 and walked 2 over 6.1 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 7 hits.
Pratt had a timely hit for St. Louis in the bottom of the sixth. With St. Louis trailing 2-0, he turned a 1-1 slider into a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season, making it 3-2, St. Louis.
St. Louis manager Babe Johnson commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
