Minneapolis starter Hub Huffman kept the Atlanta offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his fastball in leading the Millers to a 2-1 win. In 6 innings, Huffman surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The loss makes Atlanta 58-35.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Millers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the fourth, when third baseman Carl Kilkenny hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Harry Inge and made the score 1-0, Millers. Kilkenny went 3 for 4 with 3 singles.

"Wins don't come easy," Kilkenny told the Minneapolis Chronicle. "They don't just hand them out like lollipops."
