The Los Angeles Suns and starting pitcher Heinie Schmidt stifled the Atlanta offense en route to a comfortable 8-1 win at Peachtree Stadium. Schmidt picked up the win for Los Angeles, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 11-6. Los Angeles leads the Federal Association West by 5½ games.

The Suns got a big hit from pinch hitter Bill Anderson. Facing Atlanta pitcher John McCormick in the top of the eighth, Anderson pounded a 3-run home run to right. His 1st home run of the season put the Suns ahead, 8-1.

"Heinie just settled in and did what he does," said Los Angeles manager Jim Coulter.
