| Foresters Handle Sailors, Grab 4-2 Win | The Cleveland Foresters got a good effort from starter Juan Solorzano in defeating the San Francisco Sailors at Golden Gate Stadium. The final score was 4-2. Solorzano got the win, improving to 6-7. He gave up 4 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Mickey Farrar closed it out for Cleveland, earning his 1st save.
Cleveland used a big swing from Herb Reed to get the win. The second baseman walloped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Foresters up, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Solorzano.
Today's win puts Cleveland at 43-47, while San Francisco falls to 41-53. | |
