The Milwaukee Arrows locked up a win at Bigsby Stadium, knocking off the Los Angeles Stars, 4-1. On the mound for Milwaukee was right-hander Red Burtch. He played a major role in the triumph. Milwaukee is now 52-41, while Los Angeles is 53-38.

Tied up with the Stars in the top of the fourth inning, the Arrows got a boost from shortstop Ed Thomas. With the bases loaded, Thomas saw a full count fastball from George Dunnigan and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Milwaukee on top, 2-0.

"We'll put this win in the can," said Burtch, "and go after the next one."
