| Suns Upend Copperheads, 6-5 | The Los Angeles Suns picked up a win at Peachtree Stadium, downing the Atlanta Copperheads, 6-5. On the mound for Los Angeles was left-hander Pete Meissner, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Federal Association West-leading Suns have a record of 55-38.
Los Angeles used a clutch at-bat from Ed Mooney to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Suns ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Mooney.
