| Minutemen Best Suns, 9-1 | The Boston Minutemen topped the Los Angeles Suns, 9-1, in Federal Association action at Wilshire Park. The standout performance belonged to Boston pitcher and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native Hank Springer. The Minutemen now have a record of 51-40 with the win over Los Angeles.
Boston used the hitting of Jim Wise to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Minutemen on top, 2-0. For the game, Wise had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
"I thought we were prepared," Los Angeles manager Jim Coulter said after the game. "I thought we'd be more competitive out there."
