Thanks in large part to shortstop Tom Halliday, the Chicago Cougars beat the Cleveland Foresters, 9-5. Halliday was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Roger Alford earned the win to go to 9-9. He allowed 5 runs on 12 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts in 8.1 innings of work. Picking up the save was Augie Hicks, his 6th.

Charlie Sanders helped out the Chicago cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the catcher drew 2 walks.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Halliday told the Chicago News.
