| Eagles Go Down to Defeat, 11-7 | The Minneapolis Millers beat the Washington Eagles, 11-7, at Columbia Stadium. The Millers got a fine performance from right fielder John Edwards, who was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Minneapolis starter Hub Huffman was credited with the win after throwing 111 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 6-6. The last-place Eagles dropped to 44-46.
The Millers got a big hit from center fielder Bill Powell. Facing Washington pitcher Roy McDonald in the top of the sixth, Powell pounded a bases-clearing double to left. His 22nd double of the season put the Millers ahead, 7-2.
