| Minutemen Do In Suns, 6-5 | The Boston Minutemen besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Los Angeles second baseman Eddie Kellum by beating the Suns, 6-5, at Wilshire Park. Kellum went 4-5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 times. Richie Thornton picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 6 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 5-10. The second-place Minutemen go to 48-40.
Charlie Hartsell had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth for Boston. With the bases loaded and the Minutemen leading 5-4, he hit a sacrifice fly.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Hartsell.
