Despite a great performance by Detroit left fielder Pete Dance, the Philadelphia Keystones defeated the Dynamos by the score of 8-5 at Liberty Coliseum. Dance was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Philadelphia occupies second place in the Federal Association East at 42-45.

The Dynamos had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Keystones going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Pete Morris came to the plate. Morris hit a 2-run double on a 1-1 splitter from Detroit hurler Richard Elk. It was Morris's 9th double of the year.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Morris told the Philadelphia Chronicle.
