| New York Tumbles Again, Falls, 5-2, to Houston | Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Houston Comets and New York Gothams.
Riding the 4-hit performance of the 29-year old second baseman Maury Moore, the Houston Comets defeated the New York Gothams, 5-2. Houston pitcher Spencer Reese got the win. He's now 10-2. Ray Hooley was tagged with the loss.
With Houston leading 3-2 in the bottom of the third, Moore hit a slider from Ray Hooley for a run-scoring double. It was his 17th double of the season and put the Comets ahead, 4-2.
"We played hard and won," said Moore. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
New York has now lost 6 in a row.
