| Millers Squash Minutemen, 11-1 | The Minneapolis Millers soundly defeated the Boston Minutemen, 11-1, at Hennepin County Stadium. Clyde Allen, who leads the FA in doubles with 25, let his bat do the talking. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Minneapolis. Bob Ciaramella picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-9. He struck out 2 in 7.2 innings. The win puts Minneapolis at 44-43 this season.
The Millers benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the first. With George Fisher at bat and Minneapolis leading 1-0, the Boston miscue allowed Minneapolis to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.
"I want us to get on a roll," said Fisher. "It'll happen when everyone's committed to the cause." | |
