| Cougars Knock Off Imperials, 4-3 | The New York Imperials got a sterling performance from catcher Ty Rusconi, but the Chicago Cougars still prevailed, 4-3. Rusconi was 4-4 with a double and 3 singles. Bob Goldman earned the win for Chicago. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 5-9. The last-place Cougars go to 37-54.
Chicago used a well-timed hit by Fuzzy Cronin to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Cougars ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Cronin told a Chicago Today reporter that he was "very pleased" with the win.
