| Chiefs Beat Copperheads, 9-4 | The home crowd had a good time watching the Atlanta Copperheads and Chicago Chiefs get after it.
The Chicago Chiefs overcame a pretty good performance by Atlanta right fielder Jack Blair, beating the Copperheads, 9-4, at Whitney Park. Blair was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Picking up the win was Troy Myers. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 2.
Bob Starr helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-1, Chiefs.
Chicago manager Ollie Howard commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
