Garrison Socks 2 Home Runs in 15-5 Los Angeles Win
The Los Angeles Stars beat the New York Imperials, 15-5, at Dyckman Stadium. Bobby Garrison, who led the CA in runs with 131 in 1970, starred for Los Angeles. He went 4 for 6 with 2 home runs and a double. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Los Angeles starter Floyd Warner was credited with the win after throwing 122 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 11-4. The win elevated the Stars to 44-42.

Bob Branson had a big run-scoring double for the Stars in the top of the second inning. With Los Angeles leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Dick Baker and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stars ahead, 2-0.

"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Branson said.
