Ernie Day was vital to the Montreal win. He went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second with two out, Day hit a 2-run single. It made the score 2-0, in favor of the Saints.
Day told a Montreal Gazette reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
