| Foresters Win with Late Rally | Seattle got a valiant performance from pitcher Charlie Rushing, but it wasn't enough to beat the Cleveland Foresters. Cleveland won the game, 4-3. Rushing threw 9.0 innings of 8-hit ball for the losing team. Mickey Farrar picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Billy Collins suffered the loss. Their 39-46 record puts the Foresters 5th in the Continental Association East.
The Foresters relied on right fielder John Piper for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Piper. | |
