| Copperheads Stop Chiefs, 6-0 | The Atlanta Copperheads topped the Chicago Chiefs, 6-0, in Federal Association action at Whitney Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Atlanta pitcher Jack Kotarski. The Copperheads improved their record to 53-32 by beating Chicago.
Atlanta used the timely hitting of John Moreland to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Copperheads on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Atlanta manager Don Fox.
