| Sailors Absorb 5-1 Home Loss | Golden Gate Stadium was the site for Continental Association action featuring the San Francisco Sailors and Dallas Wranglers.
Dallas pitcher Jack Mead did his part in helping his team defeat the San Francisco Sailors, 5-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. With the loss, San Francisco drops to 1-3.
John Miller had a big 2-run home run for the Wranglers in the top of the third inning. With Dallas leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a changeup from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Elmer Peters and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Wranglers on top, 4-0.
"Jack throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Dallas manager Vic Kramer. | |
