Foresters Win with Late Heroics | Sherry Doyal led the charge as the Cleveland Foresters defeated the Dallas Wranglers, 8-7, in 12 innings at Forester Stadium. Doyal, who finished 2nd in the CA in home runs with 35 in 1959, went 4 for 6 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Cleveland reliever Ike Johnson picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Chet Baker was tagged with the loss. With the win, Cleveland lifts its record to 3-2.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With one out, Doyal hit a fastball from Chet Baker for a run-scoring single. The Foresters, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Doyal told the Cleveland Times. | |
