Eagles Get Hard-Earned Win
Getting a good performance from shortstop Boots Britt, the Washington Eagles defeated the Montreal Saints, 5-4. Britt was 3-4 with 2 triples, while adding 3 RBI for the Eagles. Washington has now won 5 straight, while the Saints have lost 3 in a row.

Batting in the bottom of the tenth, 25-year old catcher Joe Wilmot had a real shot to win the game. Montreal pitcher Dick Dean was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Wilmot hit a run-scoring single. The Eagles had a walk-off triumph.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Britt.
