| Perez Shackles Chicago | The Chicago Blues ran into a buzzsaw at Thorvald Park, as New York Stars starter Joe Perez cut them down to size, 3-0, tossing a 2-hit shutout.
"That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," Stars manager Eli Moses told reporters after the game. "Joe knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."
In the complete game win, the New York hurler doled out 1 walk and registered 2 strikeouts.
This season, Perez has fanned 115 in 289.2 innings and collected a 19-8 record with a 2.33 ERA. | | | | | |
