Thorvald Park was host to some intense drama.

The Chicago Blues used a great performance from Al Kennedy, who is tied for 9th in the UL in wins with 15, to beat the New York Stars, 2-1, at Thorvald Park. Arthur Beaber snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 2 innings. He's now 5-1 on the season.

The Blues got a clutch hit from shortstop Jack Holmes. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Blues.

"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Kennedy.

Chicago is now 68-78, New York 82-61.
