Bell Slugs Pioneers to 7-1 Win
Spirited fans greeted the Boston Minutemen for their clash with the St. Louis Pioneers.

Bob Bell made an impact in the 7-1 St. Louis win over Boston. Bell, who led the FA in RBI with 128 last year, was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The winning pitcher was Billy Hasson. He tossed 113 pitches over 9 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits.

With St. Louis leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Bell hit a fastball from Ray Gonyea for a 2-run home run. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Pioneers ahead, 4-0.

Bell attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."

The Federal Association-leading Pioneers have a record of 46-21.
