Philadelphia Gets 7-2 Win | Philadelphia Keystones starter Jim Elliott hurled his team past the Pittsburgh Miners, 7-2. Elliott picked up the win for Philadelphia, going 8.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3. The 6th-place Keystones have won 4 in a row.
Buddy Miller had a big run-scoring double for the Keystones in the top of the second inning. With Philadelphia leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Roy Cole and swatted a double to center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Keystones ahead, 2-0.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Philadelphia skipper Don Fox. | |
