The Boston Beacons racked up a win at Beacon Park, bumping off the Pittsburgh Mechanics, 5-4, in 13 innings. Fred Wilson, who started for Boston, pitched effectively for his team. John Hicks came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 4-2. Boston has an impressive 27-13 record.

The decisive blow was delivered by Tom Baird in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a 2-run double off fan favorite Leo Hills to win the game for Boston. The home crowd went nuts.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Baird.
