Extra-Inning Win by Cougars Over Stars
The Chicago Cougars used the hitting of second baseman Jack Gibson to subdue the Los Angeles Stars, 11-9, in 10 innings. For the game, Gibson slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6. Chicago is now 19-24.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Gibson hit a changeup from Juan Tostado for a 2-run home run. The Cougars, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Gibson.
