| Extra-Inning Win by Dynamos Over Minutemen | The Detroit Dynamos clipped the Boston Minutemen, 5-3, in 10 innings at Minuteman Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Detroit pitcher and Gary, Indiana, native Pat Fortier. Bud Dixon nailed down the save. The Minutemen, now 7-17, continue their slow start.
Pete Dance came through with a big-time hit for Detroit. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Dynamos manager Roger Cleaves. | |
