| Chiefs Sneak Past Eagles, 4-3 | The Chicago Chiefs beat the Washington Eagles, 4-3, at Whitney Park. Chicago first baseman Sam Harris had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Reliever Mike Pratt picked up the win. His record improves to 4-1. Bert Behrendt, who is tied for 8th in the FL with a 1.87 ERA, took the loss. Chicago has run its win streak to 5 straight.
Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 16-year veteran Mort Albright had a real shot to win the game. Washington pitcher Bert Behrendt was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Albright hit a 2-run single. The Chiefs had a walk-off triumph.
