Cougars Rally to Eke Out Win
Though he had a terrific game, Tony Nino could not prevent his team, the Cincinnati Cannons, from absorbing a loss. Chicago won the game, 7-6. Nino went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winner was Chicago reliever Jim Norris, now 2-1. The loser was John Walker. Tom McDaniel got the save, the 1st for him this season.

Chicago took advantage of an error in the top of the tenth inning. The game was tied, 6-6, when Cleo Harris hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Cougars in front, 7-6.

"We got the victory," said Harris. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

The win puts Chicago at 15-15.
